Day 1 – Zoom-in Working Groups
Pooling expertise and identifying ways of reducing the multiple impacts of COVID-19 on SRHR service
On day 1 of the first virtual International Dialogue on Population and Sustainable Development, delegates from around the globe joined six different thematic workshops. The working groups provided an important platform to discuss the multiple impacts of COVID-19 on the delivery of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services. Delegates could identify challenges, share best practices and jointly reflect on political and practical strategies for ensuring the realization of SRHR during - and after - the global health crisis.
The working groups also offered an opportunity to revitalize, strengthen and widen SRHR networks between participants. The virtual nature of the event in no way lessened the depth of exchange and engagement. Experts engaged in lively online discussions, focusing on the breakdowns, breakups and breakthroughs within the topic of their working group.
